Notes from the garden etc.

I thought I would share some little notes from the garden, surrounding areas and other interesting bits on this page – there are so many nice things to see here you just can’t help taking lots of photos!

Look at our strawberries! We have had so many this year that we are almost, but not quite , tired of them. They just keep coming aswell. Our guests have been enjoying Eaton Mess for weeks! Seems to go down very well!

We have a race circuit about 1 hours drive from us, Val de Vienne, it's called. A couple of weekends ago there was a Ferrari weekend there so we went to take a look. It was fantastic! Lots of fabulous cars - old and new - and lots of racing of the same cars. There was a really good atmosphere. Lots of four wheel beauty gleaming in the sunshine. See www.circuitvaldevienne.com for more scheduled events. Well worth a visit.

Todays harvest of Dahlias! They are amazing. I decided to plant a lot of Dahlias so that I could have my own flowers to cut for the rooms. Well, right now, every single room in the house has a vase of Dahlias in it....and also the rooms of our friends. There are so many flowers and they just keep coming. What I would like to know is whether you really need to take the bulbs out of the ground in the winter. I am getting a lot of conflicting advice! To take them our or to leave them in - that is the question!
