Welcome back to La Maison Verte!

We are very happy to open our gite in its new location in the beautiful Lot-et-Garonne.

La Maison Verte is now located close to the bastide town of Monflanquin, one of the “Les plus beaux villages de France”. This part of the Lot-et-Garonne offers wide open, rolling countryside with stunning far reaching views.

Monflanquin is one of several bastide towns here in the Lot-et-Garonne. It is a beautiful town where you cannot help but feel affected by the mystery of history.  Straddling the border between Périgord and Quercy, the bastide town of Monflanquin unfolds with its grid-patterned streets and sun-drenched arcades. Visitors can stroll amongst art galleries, lively terraces, and half-timbered houses before climbing up to Cap del Pech to admire the view over this “Little Tuscany” of the Southwest. The atmosphere here is both gentle and vibrant: a farmers’ market, a drink under the arcades, a summer concert—everything invites you to spend some time here. Dont miss the medieval festival in August every year!

We are surrounded by several other bastide villages, all part of the “Les plus beaux villages de France”. We recommend highly a trip to Villereal, just a 15 minutes drive from the gite and also Monpazier, over the border into Dordogne, a 30 minute drive from the gite.

We are about a 45 minute drive from Bergerac with it’s charming old town and its surrounding vineyards such as Chateau de Tiregand and Chateau de la Jaubertie and of course you can take a longer day trip and be in Bordeaux within 2 hours with its amazing offerings of vineyards and city life.

There are many other outings to be enjoyed in the area or you can simply stay in our little paradise, by the pool enjoying the magnificent view, the peace and quiet, the birds and the sunshine.
